- Creation and management of the family profile
- Enabling the messaging functionality between users
- Display of compatible families on the map
- Manual verification of profiles to ensure community safety

- Platform security and prevention of fraud and abuse
- Management of complaints and disputes
- Improvement of the service and the matching algorithm
- Anonymized statistical analysis of platform usage
c) Purposes based on consent (legal basis: Art. 6, par. 1, lett. a GDPR)
- Sending newsletters and promotional communications
- Direct marketing
- Profiling to improve matching recommendations
d) Legal obligations (legal basis: Art. 6, par. 1, lett. c GDPR)

3. TYPES OF DATA COLLECTED
Data provided directly by the user:
- Personal data: first name, last name, email, date of birth
- Family data: family composition, age and number of children
- Camper/RV data: type of vehicle, characteristics
- Travel preferences: preferred destinations, travel periods, type of camping
- Interests and values: family hobbies, recreational activities, educational values
- Photos: profile pictures of the family and the camper (optional)
- Communication data: messages exchanged with other families through the platform
- Geographic location: area of residence and/or travel (displayed on the map)
Data collected automatically:
- Navigation data: IP address, browser type, operating system, pages visited
- Technical data: cookies, access logs, activity timestamps
- Usage data: interactions with the platform, service usage patterns
4. PROCESSING METHODS
Personal data is processed using electronic and IT tools, with logic strictly related to the purposes indicated and with the adoption of the security measures provided for by the GDPR.
Data is:
- Stored on secure servers protected by firewalls and encryption
- Accessible only to authorized personnel trained in data protection
- Protected by appropriate technical and organizational measures to prevent unauthorized access, loss, or destruction
5. RETENTION PERIOD
Personal data will be retained for the time strictly necessary for the purposes for which they were collected:
- Contractual data: for the entire duration of the contractual relationship and subsequently for 10 years for legal tax/accounting obligations
- Profile data: until account deletion by the user
- Messages: retained until account deletion or deletion by the user
- Marketing data: until revocation of consent
- System logs: maximum 24 months for security purposes
6. DATA COMMUNICATION AND DISSEMINATION
Personal data may be disclosed to:
- Recipients necessary for the provision of the service:
- Other platform users: the family profile (name, family composition, interests, photos, geographical area) is visible to other registered users according to the chosen privacy settings
- Technical service providers: hosting, platform maintenance, cloud services (appointed as Data Processors pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR)
- Payment service providers: if paid premium features are available
- Analytics services: Google Analytics or similar services (in anonymized form)
Other recipients:
- Competent authorities: upon request, to comply with legal obligations
- Professional advisors: accountants, lawyers (subject to confidentiality obligations)
- Data will NOT be disclosed to unauthorized third parties nor sold to third parties for commercial purposes
7. DATA TRANSFER OUTSIDE THE EU
Personal data is stored on servers located within the European Union.
In the event that some service providers have servers outside the EU, the transfer will only take place to countries recognized by the European Commission as providing an adequate level of protection or through the safeguards provided for by Art. 46 GDPR (e.g. standard contractual clauses).
8. DATA SUBJECT RIGHTS
Pursuant to Articles 15-22 of the GDPR, the user has the right to:

- Rectification (Art. 16): obtain the correction of inaccurate data

- Portability (Art. 20): receive the data in a structured format and transmit them to another controller
- Objection (Art. 21): object to the processing on legitimate grounds
- Withdrawal of consent: withdraw consent at any time (without affecting the lawfulness of processing based on consent given before its withdrawal)
- Complaint: lodge a complaint with the Data Protection Authority (www.garanteprivacy.it)

9. PROTECTION OF MINORS
The mitcamper platform collects information on family composition, including the age of minor children, exclusively for the purpose of matching compatible families.
Important safeguards for minors:
- No direct personal data of minors is collected (first name, last name, recognizable photos)
- Data on minors (number and age group) is provided by parents/legal guardians
- It is the parents' responsibility to decide which information to share and which photos to publish
- The platform implements manual profile verifications to prevent misuse
- Parents can modify or delete information about their children at any time
Recommendations for parents:
- Do not publish recognizable photos of minors
- Do not share sensitive or detailed information about your children in messages
- Use the reporting features for inappropriate behavior
10. COOKIES AND SIMILAR TECHNOLOGIES

12. USE OF ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE
mitcamper uses generative artificial intelligence tools (including models provided by Google Gemini) to support the creation of some editorial and functional content on the platform.
In particular, with the assistance of AI the following may be produced or reworked:
- articles on the public blog at www.mitcamper.com (texts and translations);
- illustrative images associated with those articles;
- translations and reworkings of service texts (for example interface strings or informational descriptions).
Human review: editorial content intended for the public is subject to human review and editorial responsibility before publication. AI is an assistive tool and does not replace human control over published content.
mitcamper does not use emotion recognition systems or biometric categorisation of users. No automated decisions producing legal effects or similarly significant effects on the data subject are taken solely on the basis of AI systems.
AI model providers act as processors or sub-processors within the limits of their contractual arrangements; any transfers of data to countries outside the EU take place under the safeguards provided by the GDPR (for example standard contractual clauses).
